Pigmentation

Results driven treatments for pigmentation

PIGMENTATION

Pigmentation can feel unpredictable, persistent, and difficult to conceal. Whether it’s melasma, post inflammatory hyperpigmentation, or sun damage. These concerns often go deeper than the skin, affecting how you see yourself and your confidence day to day.

OUR APPROACH

PIGMENTATION

We take a results-driven, corrective approach to treating pigmentation, focusing on the underlying causes rather than just the surface. By combining advanced treatments with targeted skin strategies, we work to break down excess pigment, regulate its production, and restore a clearer, more even complexion. This is not about temporary fixes. It’s a structured, intentional journey back to balanced, luminous skin, and the confidence that comes with it.

HOW WE MAY TREAT YOUR PIGMENTATION

COSMELAN

The world's leading depigmentation treatment

Our advanced Cosmelan programme is designed for more stubborn and severe pigmentation, including melasma and deep-set discolouration. By targeting the root cause of pigment production while breaking down existing pigment, it delivers powerful, long-term correction and control for clearer, more even skin.

Microneedling

Advanced Skin Renewal for Mild Pigmentation

Ideal for milder pigmentation, post inflammatory marks, and uneven skin tone, our advanced needling treatments, including SQT Bio-Needling and Axion Microneedling work beneath the surface to stimulate collagen and accelerate cell turnover. These two technologies allow us to tailor your treatment approach, improving pigment distribution while strengthening the skin for a smoother, clearer, and more refined complexion.

Chemical Peels

Refines and brightens uneven skin tone

Targeted chemical peels are effective for mild to moderate pigmentation, working to gently exfoliate and lift excess pigment from the surface. By encouraging skin renewal, they help to brighten the complexion and improve overall tone over time.

STEP 2

Tri-Fruit Acid Peel

Following a deep cleanse, a unique Tri-Fruit Acid Lynton Fruit Peel will be applied to your skin. This peel resurfaces skin texture and decongests pores, priming the skin ready for stage 3 of illumiFacial®.

Treatment is mildly uncomfortable but there is no need for anaesthesia and the procedure is actually quite quick. Sensations vary but most describe it as similar to the flick of an elastic band.

After treatment the area may feel warm and red for a few hours. Some delicate skin areas such as the cheeks or décolleté can be red and slightly swollen for up to 48 hours. Though very rare, there is a chance a small blister may form and there could be temporary lightening or darkening of the skin.

A layer of chilled gel is applied to the skin to help guide the light. The light guide is placed onto the skin and a short pulse of light is released. The applicator is passed over the skin several times before moving onto the neighbouring area, and the process is repeated until the whole area is treated.

Each pulse of light treats a large area of skin and so the duration of the treatment is very short. The gel is removed and the skin is moisturised. During treatment protective eye wear will be provided.

Treatments typically take from 15 to 60 minutes, depending on the type and size of the area treated.

The IllumiFacial® takes around 60-90 minutes.

IPL Treatments:
Typically 1 to 3 treatments are needed for optimum results, though small lesions may clear in just a single session. Repeat treatments are spaced every 4 to 6 weeks. You must first undergo a consultation where details about your medical history are obtained in order to confirm suitability. Before proceeding you will be asked to sign a consent form and undergo a test patch.

IllumiFacial®:
We recommend a course of 3 to 6 treatments depending on the severity of your skin conditions. This will be discussed at your consultation.

Our IPL & Laser treatments are only safe for lighter skin tones 1 – 3 due to the higher melanin concentration in deeper skin tones.

IPL RED VEIN REMOVAL

SAFE AND EFFECTIVE REMOVAL

Broken Capillaries (Telangictasia), Facial Vessels, Spider Naevae, Rosacea, Vascular Lesions and Cherry Angioma’s can be safely & effective removed in as little as one session with the Lynton 3JUVE IPL (Intense Pulsed Light).

The Good Skin Clinic are proud to be the 1st and ONLY clinic in Peterborough to offer the incredible 3JUVE IPL & Laser treatments!

HOW DOES IPL WORK

FOR RED VEIN REMOVAL?

The Intense Pulsed Light IPL system releases precisely controlled short pulses of filtered light that are absorbed by the blood vessel, heating it to a point where it is destroyed.

Following treatment the vessels quickly clear and are reabsorbed by the body, leaving little or no trace of the original lesion.
